Our journey to achieve our mission
Fixing plastic waste all at once is like boiling the ocean…simply too big a task. So we’re starting where we can make the biggest impact first.
1. We're starting with milk bottles
Milk bottles are made from HDPE plastic, and over 150,000 tonnes of HDPE ends up in landfill each year. That’s more than any other type of hard plastic.
2. Our goal is to help you with all food packaging
After milk bottles, we will expand the Popit technology to Recycle Better PET drink bottles, and then all hard plastic food and drink packaging.
Diverting 50,000 tonnes of landfill will save 85,000 tonnes of CO2 (equivalent) and $60 million in waste costs each year.
